Jeffrey Painter

Funeral Director

Jeff is a lifelong resident of Mount Holly. He was born and raised here graduating from East Gaston High School in 1995. He received his certification for Funeral Directing from Fayetteville Technical Community College. He has served the community for over 15 years in the funeral business. Jeff is married ( Ashley) and has 4 daughters (Kelsie, Sadie, Cheyenne and Mary Evelyn) and 1 son(John). He is a member of the Mount Holly Rotary Club and is a Past Master of the Stanley Masonic Lodge. He volunteers as a coach for many local sports teams including SOAR sports at the First Presbyterian Church in Stanley. He recently joined the Charlotte Eagles Youth Club as an assistant coach. His family attends First Methodist Church in Mount Holly.

Staying local to help his community has Jeff excited about his future. It has always been his dream to own and operate his own funeral business. He says, “Everyone has a ministry. Once you understand the gift God has given you, it is your responsibility to use it to bless others”.

Walter Sloope

Funeral Director

Walter Sloope began his career in 1959 and has served families in Mecklenburg and Gaston Counties for over 60 years. Walter is a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Mount Holly. He was former member and Past President of the Mount Holly Rotary Club. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Mount Holly Community Relief Organization. Walter was the 2005 Mt. Holly Man of the Year. He was also a recipient of the NC Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award. Walter is honored to serve your family during their time of need.

Johnny Painter

Assistant to Funeral Director

Johnny Painter is a lifelong resident of Mt Holly.  He is married (Glenda) and has two children and nine grandchildren.  He is 2019 Mount Holly Man of the Year, a previous fireman of the year and has been very involved in youth sports - especially baseball -  in Mt Holly.  Johnny is an active member of Mt Holly First United Methodist Church and the Mt Holly Community Garden where he serves on the board. 

David Berg

8 1/2 year veteran of the US Navy

Married Ann Hawkins in 1979

Moved to Mt Holly in 1979

Retired Nuclear Station Instructor from Duke Energy after 36 years service

Member of American Legion Post 144 Belmont, NC

Member of First United Methodist Church Mt Holly, NC

David McClure

Chaplain/ Funeral Assistant

David is married to Jill McClure and served our country in the USMC. He was born in Gaston County and currently lives in Stanley.  David is the Senior Pastor, New Life Baptist Church in Stanley, NC.  He has worked in the funeral business for 7 years.  David has also has been involved in grief counseling for over 4 years. 

Ricky Wrenn

Assistant to Funeral Director

Ricky is retired from Duke Energy and a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Holly. Ricky is married to Beverly, has two children Nicholas & Virginia, three grandchildren RD, Ansilee and Logan. 

Ricky enjoys detailing cars and trucks , playing golf and going to the beach. Ricky feels it’s a privilege to help people through difficult times.
