Ann S. Helton, 96, was born in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Henry and Edna Sherrill. She was preceded in death by her husband David Helton Sr., a daughter Jean White, 3 sisters Nancy Jones, Helen Barker, and Betty Sherrill and 1 brother Clell Sherrill. She was a lifetime member of Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, Choir Member and served various roles in the church. She loved working with children, sewing, cooking and baking. She was known as MawMaw Ann to so many people over the years.

She is survived by her children Trudy Ingle of Lincolnton, Marilyn Barrier and husband Charles of Stanley, Janet Peeler and husband Randy of Lincolnton, Teresa Barrett and husband Mark of Lincolnton, and David Helton Jr. and wife Dianne of Morganton. 10 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A special church friend Mae Waters.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 3:00pm Friday at Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
