Brenda Lee Miller Orren, 81, passed away peacefully at home Sunday April 11, 2021.
She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Amzie Johnston and Evelyn Dunn Miller. She was preceded in death by a sister Sarah Beth Miller Hager, a son in law Jason Christopher Whitworth, brothers in law Jerry Lamar Anthony and Uel Glenn Hager. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Holly and a former member of Eastway Baptist Church in Charlotte. She was a Sunday School teacher, taught childrens choir, and sang in the adult choir and the senior joy choir. She worked for 50 years in the operating room and eye center at Presbyterian Hospital. She was a mentor to many new technologists coming out of school. She was a former president of the Association of Surgical Technologist. She was a former member of the Charlotte Choral Society. She was a caregiver for her family. Brenda enjoyed ceramics, collecting antiques and dolls, singing and music. She loved to host parties. She loved watching her grandchildren dance and play soccer. She loved her pets Deaghlan and Kitty.
Mrs. Orren is survived by her husband Larry Orren, daughters Tracy Orren Whitlock of Mount Holly, Gayle Whitworth of Melbourne, FL, sisters Judy Miller Anthony of Mount Holly and Kay Miller MacIntosh of Mount Holly. 2 grandchildren Alexis Leigh and Luke Christopher Whitworth of Melbourne, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Orren will be held Tuesday April 13, 2021 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Mount Holly. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm prior to the service at the church.
