Charles Foy Lowe Jr Obituary
Charles Foy Lowe, Jr, 72, lifetime resident of the Tuckaseege Road Community of Mt. Holly, NC, passed away unexpectedly, on December 16th, 2025, surrounded with love by his “big ol’ family”. Born March 3rd, the only son of the late Charles Foy Lowe & Muriel Etters Lowe. He was often referred to by his mother as their miracle child.
Charles was the ever so devoted husband of Terry Hoyle Lowe for over 53 years. From that devotion came two daughters, Carrie Baldwin (Keith) & Olivia Reep (Anthony). He was the proud grandfather of Peyton Painter (Tyler), Riley Baldwin, Emma Davis (Rylee), Ally Davis (Timothy), Aubrey Hawkins (Dawson) and Avery Reep. He was also blessed with 8 great grands, Charlee Rae & Tate Davis, Kampbell & Kallum Baldwin, Briggs & Scottie Grace Painter, Brooks Davis & Judson Hawkins. If that wasn’t enough, he also had the honor of being Paw Paw Charlie to Jaime Watson Crawford & Reign, and his beloved Lauren Young Anson & her family. He may have been an only child but found himself with the biggest family!
Charles was a patriot who loved the Lord & his country, serving in the Army until 1972 & later retiring from the NC Air National Guard in 1992. He worked 30 years for Freightliner TMP Mt. Holly where he served as a chaplain, in addition to many other roles over his career until his retirement in 2010.
Throughout Charles’ life he enjoyed spending time in the mountains, weekly family dinners, & making connections to the past through his love of ancestry. Charles life revolved around his faith, his family, his community, and a good meal. Charles will be remembered as someone who loved his wife like no other; always evident by his many pictures of them in their travels. Their love was a beacon to those fortunate enough to witness it. He made every person he cared about feel valued. His friends knew his loyalty by his steady presence in their lives. His family knew his unwavering love, commitment, and support. His community knew his faithfulness and his servant's heart. Wherever Charles went, whoever he encountered, he left them better than he found them. He left them loved.
Charles is now in the presence of the God he served so faithfully, hearing those words we all long to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
A celebration of life will be held on Monday December 22nd at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church, 113 Parkwood Street, Stanley, NC.
