Chong Cha Morris Obituary

Chong Morris, 82, of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on May 25, 2026. Born on March 15, 1944, in Seoul, South Korea, she was the beloved wife of the late Rodger Morris.


Chong immigrated from South Korea and built a life in the United States. She married Rodger Morris on November 22, 1997, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, and together they shared many happy years until his passing. A devoted family member, Chong found great joy in her extended family connections.


She is survived by her sister-in-law, Chong Om; her nephews,  Tony Om and Bobby Om and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Tyler Om, Bobby Om, Lilly Om, Leah Om, Trey Om, Carter Om, and Kaleb Om.


Chong retired after a long working career and was a faithful member of Strong Tower Ministries. She will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and the love she showed her family.


Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Painter Funeral and Cremation Services. Chong requested an earth burial. A graveside service will be held Saturday June 6,2026 at 2:00pm at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
