Claire Nielsen Obituary

Claire Anne Nielsen passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022 at Stanley Total Living Center.

She was born on February 27, 1930 in Schenectady, NY to Floyd and Stella Bromley Bradt.

Claire Anne graduated from what is now SUNY Oneonta NY in 1951 with a BA in Childhood Education.

She taught elementary school in both NYS and NC. She was also a master craftswoman in all of the Needle arts (knitting, crocheting, weaving, sewing, quilting, tatting and embroidery).

She was married to Donald William Nielsen who predeceased her in 2008. She is survived by her sons

Steven Nielsen and his wife Judy (Hanley), Robert Nielsen and his wife Barbara (Haven), Brian Nielsen and his wife Linda (Kovac), and Richard Nielsen and his wife Kim (Hellard), her grandchildren Jennifer Rydberg (Tom), Matthew Nielsen (Katie), Eric Nielsen (Bea), Timothy Nielsen (Becky), Claire Sophia Nielsen, Kelsey Nielsen and Ian Nielsen. She also has two great-grandsons, Thomas Rydberg Jr., and Grayson William Nielsen.

Inurnment will be at Crown Memorial Park, Pineville, NC.
