Daniel Gene (Danny) Furry

Daniel Gene Furry, “Danny” passed away on Wednesday April 27th, 2022. He was born in Ashland, OH on April 22nd, 1980 to Tom and Nancy Tucker Furry. He is survived by his sisters, Rachel Furry (Chris) of Hickory, NC, Amie Berryhill (Daniel) of Charlotte, NC and Dana Rhames (Dave) of Mt. Holly, NC. He is also survived by the light of his life, his daughter, Lucy Bella Furry of Rock Hill, SC. Also surviving him are nieces Annabelle and Sally Rhames, Eleanor (Ellie), Mia, and Freya Berryhill, and bonus daughter, Kendall Garvin Ramos. He is also survived by multiple Aunts, Uncles, and cousins who will miss him
tremendously. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Gene and June Tucker, Lucy Furry and Mike Furry, Aunts Sally Tucker and Janet Chamberlain, and Uncle Ed Stackhouse.
Danny did not have a perfect work resume, but what he did have was an incredible influence on all who knew him on how to love people, no matter their background or current place in their life.
He was known as the “baby whisperer” and had a hand in helping to raise many friend’s children. He was a vibrant, loving soul, who never failed to “dance like nobody was watching”.
He loved hard and fierce and taught us all to do the same. A lover of music, he had a knack for finding his way into many concerts. Some of those concerts were the best, simply because after
weather or other issues, the concerts were canceled and he found a way to stay. He loved all forms of life, including plants and brought them back from the dead and planted them anywhere
he could. His deep, blue eyes, with the natural eyeliner, sparkled most when he talked about his greatest accomplishment, his Lucy Lu, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, his most precious gift to
this world. He captivated all that would listen with his fascinating stories and reminded us all to live and live big. He was a beautiful disaster and the patron of underdogs and misfits and made
it okay to just be you, whoever you were.
He was forever off on some sort of adventure and now he is on to his next through his organ donation. Just in Danny fashion, he gave what he could even in his earthly ending.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 7th from 2pm to 5pm at River Park in Rock Hill, 1782 Quality Circle, Rock Hill, SC 29730. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Lucy’s College Fund or LifeShare Carolinas.
