Darlene Horton Harris, age 74, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023 in Gastonia, NC. She was born on March 10, 1949 in Gaston County to the late Ervin and Ruby Horton.

Darlene was preceded in death by her sister Kay Toomey and brother-in-law Max Toomey. She is survived by her loving husband of over 54 years Phil Harris; two sons, Craig Harris and wife Julie of Charlotte and Daven Harris and wife Anna of Mount Holly; four grandchildren Nic, Sophia, Alli, and Brooks Harris; brother Rommie Horton; nieces; nephews; and extended family.

Darlene graduated from Holbrook High School. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother. Darlene loved attending all her grandchildren’s sporting events and always cheered them on with enthusiasm. She was a wonderful baker who loved to cook for special occasions.

The funeral will be held at New Covenant Church Mount Holly (14514 Lucia Riverbend Highway Mount Holly NC ) on November 10th at 12:00PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
