Deborah Ann Haverty Scanlon Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Deborah Ann Haverty Scanlon, who left this world on May 5, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on December 13, 1949, in Charlotte, Deborah was a beacon of kindness and warmth, touching the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Deborah was the cherished daughter of Joe and Iris Haverty. She shared a close-knit bond with her siblings: Angela Blackwood and husband Eddie, Kathy Drumm and husband Jimmy, and Joe Haverty and wife Amanda, all of Mount Holly. Her love for her numerous extended family members was profound. A proud alumna of Mount Holly High School, class of 1967, Deborah furthered her education at Kings Business College. She went on to dedicate her career to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, where her kind and wonderful personality left an indelible mark on countless colleagues.Deborah kept up with her husbands active involvement with the Blackcat 10 Helicopter Squadron group for Vietnam Veterans. Her participation was a testament to her unwavering support for those who served and her gratitude for their sacrifices. Predeceased by her loving husband, Mark Francis Scanlon, Deborah's enduring love for him was a testament to their beautiful journey together. Her legacy of love and compassion continues to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
