Dorothy Harris Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Louise "Dot" Harris, born on February 5, 1942, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dorothy peacefully departed this world at Caromont Regional Medical Center on her birthday February 5, 2025

Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Richard and Louise Beatty Harris, who preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family, which included her dear sisters, Florence Elizabeth "Lib" Harris and Mary Virginia Harris, and her brother, Richard Harris Jr. Dorothy also took great joy in her role as an aunt to her niece, Kimberly Follis, and her nephew, Kevin Harris.

A proud graduate of Mount Holly High School, Dorothy carried the values of education and community service throughout her life. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Mount Holly, where she found joy and purpose in her faith. Additionally she was involved with the Lincoln County ECA.

Dorothy had a passion for adventure and exploration that led her love of travel.

A graveside funeral service will be held in her honor on Tuesday February 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Dorothy's life and the indelible impact she had on all who knew her.
