Effie Maddox Eagle, 83 passed away peacefully on Thursday February 10, 2022. She was born in Georgia, daughter of the late George and Ethel Maddox. She was preceded in death by siblings Frank Maddox, Grace and Pete. She was a member of Newell Baptist Church In Charlotte and Denver Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener who could grow anything. She was a wonderful baker and was known for her pound cake. She headed the Senior Citizen Group for the Southern Baptist Association in Charlotte and worked for the Womens Missionary Unit. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She left a mark on everyone she met.She loved Jesus and had the best hugs ever.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years Jerry Eagle, 3 children Patti Huston and husband Robert of Surfside Beach, SC, Chip Eagle of Denver, and Tonya Tucker and husband Justin of Iron Station, 5 grandchildren Cody Tucker, Ana Hamdan (Mo), Micah Wilson, Nicholas Wilson and Colton Tucker. 2 great grandchildren Akira and Brody, siblings Trisha Nease and David Maddox and numerous close friends whom she considered family.
The family would like to offer special thanks to her caregivers for their care and compassion.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00am Saturday February 12, 2022 at Real Life Church in Stanley with Pastor Mike Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Dr, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
