Elizabeth Ann Cope Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Brown Cope 74, of Mt. Holly passed after a long battle with dementia at Willow Ridge Memory Care in Charlotte on October 22, 2024.
Elizabeth had many passions, most importantly babies, children and youth, and none more important than her four boys and grandchildren!!
She graduated from UNCC with a nursing degree in 1972. She specialized in NICU care at Carolinas Medical Center Charlotte and later at Alachua General and Shands General Hospital in Florida.
She loved her Bunko group at church. She helped with VBS and the youth always sharing a story of taking the youth on trips to Lake “J.” She also loved cooking for the youth and cooking for her family.
She was a whiz with a sewing machine. She was part of the design company Redo Your Roost making any type of household linens imaginable. She helped alter wedding dresses, make clothes, but her most cherished by her family are the baby quilts made for most of her grandchildren for their birth.
She loved her boys fiercely and was a huge advocate and cheerleader for them, and later their wives and new stepdaughter, throughout the rest of her life. She never missed a sporting event, which is saying a lot with four boys. She helped Robert learn to read and got involved in Boy Scouts to help three of her boys achieve their Eagle Scout.
She had a special love for her grandchildren often taking care of
Cassidy and Zoey when they were little. She also traveled across country to be with Stephen and Amber, and with Robert and Whitney when they had their first babies.
