Elizabeth (Liz) Figueroa

Elizabeth (Liz) Figueroa, 64, of Dallas, NC, passed away on the 8th of July after a short, yet valiant battle with cancer.

          Liz was born on the 20th of January, 1959 to Margaret and John Forni in Staten Island, NY.  She attended American Sign Language school and derived enormous joy in being able to connect and communicate with the autistic children at the group home in which she worked in Staten Island.  

         In 2002 she met her soul mate, John Figueroa, and they wed shortly thereafter.  They moved to Tennessee and lived happily for many years, until John lost his battle with cancer.

     Liz was a funny, caring, and compassionate person who was absolutely full of life and love.  She especially loved babies and pets (of all kinds).  

     Liz is pre-deceased by her parents, Margaret and John, as well as her sister, Amy, and her husband, John.  She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Forni, and her brother, John Forni. 

     A memorial service will be planned for Liz in the coming months to which all friends and family will be invited.
