Ellen Louise VanLear (Baldwin) Digh, of Mount Holly, N.C. passed away peacefully at her home after a battle with cancer on September 3, 2022, at the age of 65. She was survived by her husband Tim Digh; Son Michael Baldwin and his family Natalie, Brooke, Valerie, and Sawyer; Son Matt Baldwin and his family Brittany, Brody, Baylie, and Brylee; Daughter Audrey Lineberger and her family Brandon, Kaidence, and Blakely; Step-Daughter Taylor Digh and grandson Chance Mclamb; 5 siblings; and a loved large extended family. 

      Ellen graduated from Radford University in Virginia then began her career as a CPA at PSNC/Scana and then Duke Energy. She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, dry witty humor, baking, Christmas, horses, visiting her home town, and absolutely any and everything with her grandkids. She was selfless and made people feel special and loved. 

       A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 10th at 6pm at First Baptist Church of Stanley, 409 Old Mount Holly Rd., Stanley, NC 28164. Family will receive friends beginning at 4pm. In honor of cancer and Ellen’s favorite color, wearing purple is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen’s honor may be made to The Organization for Autism Research or Hospice & Pallative Care Charlotte Region
