It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elynanne Polhemus Wilkie, who left this world on September 12, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Elynanne was born on February 5, 1991, in South Carolina, and her journey through life was marked by a profound love for family, friends, and the many passions that brought her joy.

Elynanne was the beloved daughter of Josie Polhemus of Gastonia and the late Timothy Wilkie. She is preceded in death by her cherished son, Henri-Guy Lake White, and her grandparents, James and Matilda Wilkie, along with Josie Lovelace Polhemus and William Polhemus. Elynanne is survived by a devoted family that includes her mother, her life partner Nicholas White, her stepmother Lynn Wilkie, her brothers TJ Wilkie and Robert Wilkie, and her sister Emily Broadway. 

A graduate of the Highland School of Technology, Elynanne pursued her education with great dedication. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an Associate's degree in Fine Arts from Gaston College, and her Master’s in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her commitment to learning reflected her nurturing spirit and her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Elynanne was a passionate and vibrant soul, who never met a stranger. She took pride in forming new friendships and was known for her infectious laughter and warmth. Her love for sports was evident in her unwavering support for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Clemson, and UNC teams. Elynanne also cherished moments spent at the beach and found joy in the melodies of country music. 

Before her illness, she had been a dedicated employee at Dick's Sporting Goods, Caliber Collision, and Palm Beach Tanning. 

Elynanne was a faithful member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Gastonia, where she found solace and companionship within her spiritual community. She approached life with grace and compassion, qualities that endeared her to many.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday September 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at All Saints Episcopal in Gastonia. After the service, friends and family are invited to gather in the Family Life Center to honor Elynanne's life, share memories, and celebrate the light she brought to all who knew her.
