Ervin Eugene Costner

Ervin Eugene Costner passed away at the age of 84 on September 13, 2023, in Spencer Mountain, North Carolina. He was born in Gaston County to the late Roy and Mable Eastwood Costner. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bill and Don Costner. Ervin graduated from Mount Holly High School.

He was a loving husband of 60 years to Patricia Adams "Patsy" Costner (preceded in death). He is survived by two sons, Eric Costner of Gastonia, NC, and Keith Costner and wife Kim of Mt. Holly NC, granddaughter Kelli Costner and fiance Rob of Mount Holly. Sisters in law Frances Costner, Jan Costner, Barbara Freeman , Janice Hansil and husband Jimmy, Wanda Adams and fiance Ross Wallace, and Karen Dennis, brother in law Phil Adams and wife Wendy, and his special friend Phyllis Hall.

Ervin was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a founding member and guitarist of the Costner Quartet. He was a life long member of Spencer Mountain Baptist Church as well as a member of Stanley Masonic Lodge #713.

A funeral service will be held at Spencer Mountain Baptist Church in Gastonia on Sunday September 17th at 2:00 pm that is open to all friends and family who wish to pay their respects. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.

Ervin will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
