Evelyn S. Beatty, 86, passed away on Sunday August 14, 2022. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late David and Edna H. Stilwell. She was preceded in death by her husband James "Jimmy" Beatty, her brothers D.C. Stilwell, Jimmy B. Stilwell, and Landy S. Stilwell, sisters Jessie S. Johnson, Byrle S. Hendrix, Elizabeth S. Hendrix and Dorothy N. Stilwell. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Holly. She was a retired elementary school teacher.  She loved her animals. Evelyn and Jimmy enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time at their home in the mountains.

She is survived by a sister Ruby S. Corr (Laughton) of Virginia, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am Friday August 19, 2022 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Entombment will follow at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson Hospice House or to the First Methodist Church in Mount Holly.
