Geraldine Sisk Jarrett, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 16, 1938, in Gaston County, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Faye Sisk.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Jarrett Sr., her two sisters, Judy Alwran and Doris Nash, and her parents. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Gene Jarrett Jr., and Keith Jarrett and his wife, Betty. Her adoring grandchildren, Arlie Fortenberry and her husband Matthew, and Mallie Earnhardt and her husband Austin, brought immense joy to her life. Geraldine's heart expanded with love for her great-grandchildren, Henry, Gentry, and Eleanor, who were the light of her later years.
In addition to her immediate family, Geraldine is survived by her brother, Donald Sisk, and her sisters, Sue Pope and Linda Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews. The bonds of family were of utmost importance to her; she was known to all as a nurturing figure affectionately known as Grandmother.
Geraldine was a proud member of Centerview Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her time in her yard, tending to her plants and flowers—an extension of her nurturing spirit that brought beauty to her home and joy to her family. Those who knew "Grandmother" will always remember her as a beacon of light, a strong compassionate woman whose legacy of faith and family will live on for generations to come,
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Betty, Stephanie, and Shelby, who provided compassionate support and care in her final days.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Geraldine's life during a graveside service to be held at Hillcrest Gardens on May 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM. There will be a family and friends viewing from 6-8:00pm Wednesday at 601 Belmont Mount Holly Road, Mount Holly NC 28120.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VIA Hospice of Lincoln County.
