Harman Gray Poplin, age 72, of Charlotte NC, passed away on August 18th, 2021.
Harman was born on January 4th, 1949 in Mocksville NC, and was the son of John and Betty Poplin. He attended East Forsyth High School in Winston Salem, NC where he was on the wrestling team. After serving in the Air Force, he worked at the United States Post Office for over 30 years and served as Charlotte area union president. He was passionate about his Christian faith and was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed spending time with family, tending to his cats, attending church, cooking Saturday morning breakfast, growing flowers in his garden, playing card games, and eating anything chocolate.
Harman is survived by his wife, Nancy Poplin, his three children Jonathan Poplin and wife Sandy Poplin, Stuart Poplin and wife Breanna Sooter, and Elizabeth Carpenter and husband Blake Carpenter, and his two grandchildren, Trevor Poplin and Elijah Sooter Poplin. He is also survived by his brother in law Chuck Woodsford, niece Sharon Sizemore, and nephew Randall Woodsford.
A memorial service in celebration of Harman’s life will be held at Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 17th at 2pm.
