Hazel Ridenhour Lutz, 94, entered the church triumphant on October 18, 2022. She was born July 24, 1928 in Greer, SC. Hazel served the church and community with compassion and leadership. She was a faithful and active member of Tuckaseegee Baptist Church for more than 70 years. Hazel loved the Town of Mount Holly and was recognized in 2012 as Mount Holly Woman of the Year. She was a dedicated and caring “Angel" at Charlie's Drug Store where she made friends for life. Hazel loved to celebrate birthdays, weddings and newborn babies. This was a common occurence for 60 years with her wonderful Cedar Lane neighbors. Spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was the love of her life. She also found great joy being with children of all ages. Hazel lead a full and productive life, loving God and helping others.

Survived by her son, Michael Lutz (Monica) her daughter, Janet Goetz (Jeff), Grandchildren; Tracy Shumate (Jon), Melissa Cassidy (Michael), Jackie Beck (Angela), Erin Killian (Jacob), Michael Lutz, Alexandria Lutz, Great Grandchildren; Charlie and Gwendolyn Shumate, Peter, James and Colette Cassidy, Amelia Obey Sister, Elizabeth Noble and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lutz, Father, Macon Ridenhour, Mother, Beulah Abernathy Brothers; Albert Jack, Ray, and Glenn Abernathy and Sister, Virginia Clawson; Great Grandson Mason Heller.

A memorial service will be held Friday October 21, 2022 at Tuckaseegee Baptist Church, 511 Tuckaseege Road, Mount Holly,  at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends from 10:30-12:00 noon.
