Herbert “Jerry” Jones, 82, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday April 13, 2021 and is now with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. He loved God and raised his family in a loving Christian home. His faith in Jesus Christ was a great comfort to him and his family during his last days. 

He was born in Dallas, NC, son of the late Jesse and Violet Jones. He was an avid UNC Tarheel and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved woodworking and his trips to the beach.  PawPaw enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s baseball games and cheer events. His most prized possession was his family.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara Jones, 4 daughters Rebecca Jones of Belmont, Paula Wright (Scott) of Mount Holly, Amanda Meeks (Jamie) of Myrtle Beach, and Teresa Conner (Chuck) of Gastonia, grandchildren Christina Jones, Cassandra and Josh Hudgins, Dylan Wright, Jacob Meeks, Hannah Meeks, Brittany Jacobs and Kasey Conner, and great grandchildren Rylee and Logan Jacobs.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jones will be held Thursday April 15, 2021 at 1:00pm at Gaston Memorial Park .
