Iris’s deep faith guided her throughout her life.  She served passionately through her dedication to the East Lincoln Christian Ministries, and as a faithful member of Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Her commitment to her church family was unwavering, having taken on rolesas a youth leader, Vacation Bible School volunteer, Kidz Klub helper, and Worship Chairperson.

With a vibrant and loving spirit, Iris brought light and kindness wherever she went. She touched countless lives with her generosity, faith, and joy.  She is a child of God, beloved daughter, great sister, loving wife, devoted mother, and proud Nana.  Her love for her family was limitless, and shealways ended every conversation with “I love you.”

Iris is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie, and their three daughters, Jennifer Meier (Jodi) of Evergreen, CO, Kristen Dickson (Russell) of Denver, NC, and Lesley Gales (Steven) of Stanley, NC.  She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Faith Dickson, Grayson Dickson, Mason Gales, and Paisley Gales, who brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her three brothers, John David (Bernie), Franklin (Claudia), and Donald (Susan).  Iris is preceded in death by her son, Joshua Brendt Walker, her parents, David Kitchen Grice and Elizabeth Lineberger Grice and brother, Joe Dan (Becky).

“Then sings my soul my Savior God to Thee.  How great Thou art, how great Thou art.”

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm Saturday May 10, 2025 at Hills Chapel United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the internment at the church fellowship hall.
