James Edgar Whitworth, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was born in Lincoln County, son of the late Edgar and Inez Whitworth. He was preceded in death by a sister Alice Inez Gibson. He loved to go fishing and watch racing.
He is survived by his common law wife Gwen Epley, 3 children Tammy Lynn Riley, Jerry Whitworth and wife Elizabeth, Raymond Whitworth and wife Crissy, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A sister Barbara Colene Gilbert.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Whitworth will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Rankin Lake Baptist Church in Dallas. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn of Lincolnton.
