Born on June 29, 1932, in Cramerton, North Carolina, Janellen lived a life full of grace, dedication, and warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Janellen was the beloved daughter of Robert and Floro Digh, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her three sisters, Francis Bowen, Dorothy Grubbs, and Madge Digh, with whom she shared a close bond. Together, they created a tapestry of family love and shared memories that will be cherished forever. Growing up in Cramerton, Janellen attended local schools, where she cultivated a love for learning and community that stayed with her throughout her life. Her early years shaped her into a woman of great strength and resilience, qualities she carried with grace into every role she embraced. Janellen's life was a testament to the value of family and the joy found in simple, everyday moments. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Jeff Hudgins of Gastonia and Jerry Hudgins and his wife, Karen, of Auburn, GA. Her sons were the pride and joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. As a grandmother to three grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one, Janellen's nurturing spirit and loving guidance left a lasting impact on the younger generations of her family. Her legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness will continue to inspire them for years to come. After many dedicated years as a homemaker, Janellen found fulfillment in her work at Plej’s and later at the fabric department of Walmart, where she was known for her warm smile and welcoming presence. Her work ethic and dedication were admired by colleagues and customers alike. A devoted member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Janellen found great joy and purpose in her faith and community. Her involvement brought her peace and fulfillment, and she shared her love of God with those around her. Janellen's passion for sewing, cooking, and baking was well known to her family and friends. She found great joy in creating beautiful garments and delicious meals, often sharing her talents with others in acts of generosity. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her culinary creations, and her gardens bloomed with the vibrant colors of her beloved flowers. Services to honor and celebrate Janellen's remarkable life will be held on March 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, NC.
