Janet Haynes Obituary

Janet Lee Edwards Haynes, affectionately known as "Chick," crossed over into a new beginning on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Her wit, humor, love, and beauty will be missed each and every day. Janet was an amazing woman, and wherever she went, people were drawn to her. She lit up every room she entered.

Janet didn’t enjoy cooking, but her meals would knock your socks off! She would always say, "Hey baby, come on in and fix you a plate." Everyone was always welcome at her table. All who knew her could turn to her, and she would always listen with unwavering compassion. She had a love for music, with Stevie Ray Vaughan being one of her favorites, and she had dancing shoes to boot. She was fascinated by any program about travel, nature, or how things were made, and her and Ted watched those shows together.

When she was able, she and Ted were always at birthday parties, cookouts, and holiday events. She was the life of the event, and her presence made every gathering brighter. We are profoundly grateful for her lively spirit and the joy she brought into our lives. She was the absolute best mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend anyone could ever ask for, and we are all incredibly grateful for the time we had with her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Teddy Lee Haynes; her beloved daughter, Heather Hardin (Mark); her cherished sister, Katherine Britton (Ricky); her loving brother, Richard Edwards (Jen); her adored granddaughter, Karson Haney (Damian); and her treasured grandson, Daniel Bratcher. She also leaves behind her dear nieces, Lauren Wyatt (Josh) and Kasey Rusling (Tom); her loving nephews, Dillon McKinnish and Billy Haynes (Lauren); and her precious great-nieces and great-nephews, Dara, Max, Lincoln, Charlie, and Camden.
Janet’s lifelong friend, "Aunt Kim" Brown, will also cherish her memory.

Although Janet was usually a cat person, her sweet little black Chihuahua, Alley Mae, will miss her greatly.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held at a later date.
