It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Scott Gibson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on June 16, 2026, at the age of 64. Jeff was born on July 19, 1961, in Gaston County, where he began a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Jeff was the cherished son of Melvin and Hilda Gibson, who preceded him in death, as did his beloved daughter, Amanda Gibson. Despite these profound losses, Jeff's spirit remained resilient, and his heart open to the joys of life. Jeff was a man of simple pleasures, he attended Ashbrook High School. His passion for motorcycles was well-known and brought him countless hours of joy and camaraderie with fellow riders. Professionally, Jeff dedicated many years to United Rentals in Hickory, where his hard work and dedication were admired by colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to his work was only overshadowed by his devotion to his family and his faith. Jeff's attended Revival Tabernacle in Stanley. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 35 years, Darlene Gibson, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Together, they built a family of love with their children, Jason Walker and Chasity Woods, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. Jeff's siblings, Susie Tessner and her husband Jerry, Tim Gibson and his wife Karen, and Randy Gibson and his wife Sheila, will forever cherish the memories and bonds they shared with him. His presence will also be dearly missed by his numerous extended family members, who were touched by his warmth and generosity. A service to celebrate Jeff's remarkable life will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Way of the Cross in Mount Holly. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jeff are warmly invited to attend and to share in the stories. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:00am.
