It is with a heavy heart and great sadness, we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Eagle of Iron Station, NC on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Mr. Eagle was the founder of Eagle-Wood, Inc. and patriarch of the Eagle family. He was preceded in death earlier this year by the love of his life, Effie Maddox Eagle. Jerry was born on January 25, 1938, to the late Melvin Eagle and Clara K. Martin in Indiana.
Surviving are his daughters Patti Eagle Huston and Tonya Eagle Tucker and, his son and namesake, Jerry “Chip” Eagle Jr. Additionally surviving are his son in laws, Justin Tucker and Robert Huston. Jerry was a constant inspiration to his grandchildren Cody Tucker (Shelby), twins Ana Hamden (Mohamad) and Micah Wilson (Sean), Nicholas Wilson, and Colton Tucker (Madison). Great grandchildren Brody and Akira were Jerry’s pride.
Those who knew Jerry will forever remember his quick wit and Godly wisdom. The world has lost a remarkably generous man and he will be forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. He is preceded in death not only by his of his wife of 59 years and parents but also his loving stepmother Dorothy Eagle Critchlow. Surviving siblings are his two sisters and brother in laws, Judy and Rex Boswell and Scarlet
and Ed Wilcoxen.
The funeral will be Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at Real Life Church in Lucia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude’s Children’s hospital or Samaritan’s Purse.
