Kathryn Yandle Rhames, 85, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at Summit Place of South Park.

Born on January 19, 1940, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late D.W. Yandle and Mary Agnes (Wentz) Yandle.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Scott Rhames Sr.

She is survived by her children: Karen Aiken of Mount Holly, Scott Rhames of Charlotte, Darryl Rhames of Charlotte, and Melinda Rhames of Huntersville; her grandchildren: Justin (Ana), Julie (Mike), Ashley, and Darren; her great-grandchildren: Sarah, Vivian, Violet, Valerie, Lucas, and Winston; and her siblings: Tommy Yandle, Linda Faile, and Shirley Rozelle.

Kathryn served as the home office manager for the family business, Rhames Oil Equipment. She had a passion for thrifting at yard sales and Goodwill stores, adored her pets, and found great joy in gospel music and hymns. She loved to rid her yard of sticks, leaves and weeds.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday January 31, 2026 at Garden Memorial Presbyterian Church.
