Mandy Carver, a much-loved sister, cousin, aunt, and friend went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025, at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her father, Laurence Rice; mother, Linda Crutchfield Horton, and beloved sister Sandy. She is survived by a son, Forrest Brown (Angela); cherished granddaughter and grandson; a brother, Don Maggart (Amy); nephews Brice and Graham Maggart; several cousins, and some very special friends.
Mandy was disabled for much of her adult life and was a resident of Wexford House Assisted Living for the past sixteen years. She cared for the staff and developed deep ties with some other long-term residents there, who became her extended family and a source of loving companionship and daily joy. Despite the physical and personal difficulties she faced, Mandy was always ready with a word of kindness or smile for someone feeling low. She was a born nurturer and countless residents at Wexford House benefited from her love, attention and care over the years.
Mandy was always young at heart; she loved music and dancing, shopping, the ocean, and trips to the beach. But more than anything, Mandy loved her family, especially her son, grandchildren, and nephews.
Mandy came to faith in Jesus early in life but her relationship with the Lord became real and sustaining only through the physical hardships and loss she faced in recent years. We are thankful for God’s assurance that in death she is now made completely whole and is dancing before the Lord.
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!... Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Revelation 21: 4-7
