Lorene Thornburg Smith

Lorene Smith, 89, passed away peacefully at the Robin Johnson Hospice House on Sunday September 19, 2021 after suffering a stroke on September 11, 2021. She was born on November 6, 1931 to the late Zeb Thornburg and Viola McCall Thornburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Tracy G. Davis Foley and a son in law Steve Byers. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Brenda Eller Conner (Jimmy) and Patricia Eller Byers, granddaughters Melanie Kinley (Donny), Shannon Jenkins (Chris), Jaime Webb, Nikki Drake (Cody) and Tasha Davis (fiancé Chris Reynolds) son in law Tracey Foley. 3 great grandsons Cameron Kinley, Caleb Kinley and Landon Jenkins, 4 great granddaughters Madey Gracen Jenkins, Lennae Neal, Berkley Webb and Hayden Drake, sister Farrell Sherrill of Gaffney, SC, brother Ed Thornburg of Gastonia and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 4:00pm Sunday September 26, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
