Lucille Dixon, age 98, of Charlotte departed this life September 8, 2025. A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held Sunday October 5, 2025 at 2:00PM at Christ United Methodist Church, 8020 Bellhaven Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28216. Visitation will follow from 3:00 to 4:00PM in the Family Life Center at the church. The service will be led by Pastor Ross O’Neal and Pastor Donnie Mitchem.

Lucille was born on March 4th, 1927 in Mecklenburg County, daughter of Odessa Williams Turner who died when Lucille was eight years old. Lucille was preceded in death by her stepmother Mary Belle Elliott Turner and father Nolan S. Turner, husband Charles Dixon and most recently her son Randy Dixon in May of this year. Also, her beloved sisters Margaret Murphy and Evelyn Carpenter and brothers-in-law Joe Murphy and Walter Carpenter.

She is survived by her daughter Tina Wilson (Graham), granddaughter Holly Honeycutt (Eric), grandson Hunter Wilson (Jamie), great-grandsons Gavin Honeycutt, Aiden Honeycutt and Holden Honeycutt, and another great-grandchild expected in November.

A special and sincere thanks to surviving daughters-in-law Alice Dixon and Gayle Dixon for their strong support and care for Lucille through her life’s journey.

Lucille was a lifelong resident of Charlotte and lived most of her life in the Coulwood community. She was known for her wonderful hospitality and cooking. She always had an open door for many families and the kids in the Coulwood community.

Lucille was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Charlotte. She was an active member and former leader in the United Methodist Women. She volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and worked in the preschool program where she was affectionally known as “Miss Lucy.”
