Obituary

Mount Ellis Helms Jr., born on March 14, 1943 in Mecklenburg County, passed away on August 29, 2023 in Mount Holly, North Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Darcus Baker and Mount Ellis Helms Sr.

Mount Ellis proudly served his country as a US Army Veteran in the 173rd Airborne. He graduated from Mount Holly High School in 1963. He was the owner/operator of Helms Sand and Gravel.

He was preceded in death by his wives Margaret Ann Oglesby Helms and Cindy Helms.

Mount Ellis is survived by his children Stacy Helms McDaniel (Tony Lee), Beverly Dawn Cagle (Gary), Corry Leigh Helms, Adam Helms (Rachel); grandchildren Caitlin Cieslak (Austin), Derek Theodorski, Jesse James Coleman, Brianna Saulnier, Tyler Helms, Kaylan and Reese Helms; great grandchildren Bryson Cieslak and Cammie Cieslak.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on September 2nd at 2:00 PM at his home, 1261 Old Highway 27, Mount Holly, NC 28120. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00pm prior to the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mount's life with us.
