Pauline "Pudgie" Jones Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pauline Jenkins "Pudgie" Jones, who left this world peacefully on September 18, 2025, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House. Born on May 14, 1926, in Gaston County, Pauline lived a full and vibrant life, reaching the age of 99 years.

Pudgie was the beloved daughter of the late Marybelle and Edgar Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Dick Jones, who was her partner in life and love, as well as her sisters Dolly Tarleton and Margaret Bare, and her brother William Monroe Jenkins. Despite these profound losses, Pudgie's legacy is carried on by her devoted daughter, Debbie Harris, her grandson, Jeff Harris, and his girlfriend, Erin and her daughter Annalyn, along with her great granddaughter, Claire Harris, as well as numerous extended family members who will miss her dearly.

A proud graduate of Mount Holly High School in 1943, Pauline dedicated 45 years of her life to A&E Mills before retiring. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will remember her as a humble and thoughtful person, always putting others before herself. Her warm heart and selfless nature touched the lives of everyone she met.

Pudgie was a lifelong member of First Methodist Church Mount Holly, where she actively participated in the Junior Choir and the Chancel Choir, holding numerous offices within the church community. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, a source of strength and solace that she shared with others. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxillary for 35 years.

In her time away from work and church, Pauline found immense joy in gardening and nurturing her yard, reveling in the beauty of nature. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth.

Her funeral service will be private.

Pauline's legacy is one of kindness, humility, and unwavering love for her family and community.
