Peggy Ann (Quilliams) Sampson Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Peggy Ann Sampson on July 24, 2026, at the age of 81. Born May 20, 1945, in Wilkes County, NC, Peggy was the cherished daughter of Earl and Cordie Quilliams. She was raised in a lively household alongside her siblings: brothers Jerry, Hank, and Junior Quilliams, and sisters Betty Lewis, Phoebe Johnson, and Margie Carter, all of whom predeceased her. Peggy faced the heartbreak of losing her beloved sons, Ronnie Lee Isley and John William Isley, yet she continued to embody resilience and grace. Peggy's life was a testament to love and commitment, shared with her devoted husband of 56 years, Ronald Sampson. Together, they created a beautiful family and a lifetime of memories. Peggy is survived by her children, Julie Sampson Davis and David Sampson and his wife, Diane, her step son Michael Sampson. Her legacy continues in her seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of her spirit and warmth. A woman of remarkable dedication, Peggy spent 45 years at Pharr Yarns in McAdenville, where she made not only textiles but also lasting friendships and impacts. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of kindness and reliability. Peggy's passions extended beyond her professional life. She possessed an extraordinary talent for sewing and quilting, creating pieces that will be treasured for generations. Her home was always adorned with vibrant flowers, reflecting her love for nature's beauty. In her quieter moments, Peggy found joy in watching old movies. Peggy's sister, Gale Waldrup, remains a beacon of familial love and support, cherishing the memories they crafted together. As we mourn the loss of Peggy Ann Sampson, we also celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and immeasurable joy. Her influence will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
