A celebration of life for Gary, who died at home unexpectedly on June 11, will be held Friday, June 19,at 10:00 A. M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church ,Mt. Holly. Gary was a U. S. Army veteran having served in Germany and Viet Nam. After his service he moved to Georgia where he worked as an electrician until he retired. Gary then returned to his home town, Mt. Holly, where he lived until his death. He enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing. He also enjoyed going to Las Vegas and to Harrah’s Cherokee with his younger brother. He loved family get-togethers with his nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Myrtle Jordan, his brother Greg and his beloved dog and constant companion, Silver. He is survived by his brother “Skip” Perry and wife Diane, his nephew Trey and wife Angie, his niece Katie and husband Tay, fourgreat nieces: Katybeth and Tori Currie, Caroline and husband Anthony Fabian, Carly Perry and great nephew Nash Perry, several cousins and dear friend Cathy Paige.
There will be a reception for family and friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the stain glass window fund at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 110 S. Main St. Mt. Holly, NC 28210. Burial will be private at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
