Robert Glenn (Bo) Kelly Jr.

Robert Glenn “Bo” Kelly Jr., 80, passed away peacefully at home Saturday April 24, 2021.

He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Ona Ballard and Robert Glenn Kelly Sr.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters Delores Campbell, Joyce Doreen Kelly, Brenda Harrison and Wanda Deese, a granddaughter Heather Michelle Sisk.  He worked at Chronicle Mill until he started working at Freightliner where he retired after 22 years. He was known as Zero by his coworkers. He was a member of the UAW and was a member of Goshen Free Will Baptist and attended First Free Will Baptist in Mount Holly. He loved to play golf and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and attended many races. There was never a dull moment around Bo. He kept things lively and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by 4 daughters Donna Rogers (Keith) of Mount Holly, Michelle Sisk of Belmont, Tami Boone of Belmont and Melissa Mathis of Belmont. Step son Ron Monk, 5 Grandchildren Skie Arrington, Keaton Kelly, Lacie Boone, Grayson Taylor and Makenzie Rogers; a sister Patricia Boyles and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Kelly will be held Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 2:00pm at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
