Robert William "Bobby" Laughlin, born on May 23, 1954, in Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Belmont on April 12, 2025, at the age of 70. He was the beloved son of the late William and Nancy Laughlin, who preceded him in death.

Robert was a devoted husband to his wife of over 50 years, Cindi Laughlin. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a proud father to his two sons, Clint Laughlin and his wife Melonie, and Phillip Laughlin, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was also a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Maddie and Ella Laughlin.

Robert is also survived by his cherished family, including his siblings Georgia Burger and her husband Dan, and John Michael Laughlin. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Danny Snead and his wife Carolyn, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He shared a special friendship with Chuck Auten, who brought much joy into his life. He also loved his dogs Cody and Cooper.

Robert was a man of many passions. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, where he loved to hunt and fish. He took great pride in his work, often found in his building, fixing and repairing guns—a hobby that reflected his hands-on nature and meticulous attention to detail. Gardening also brought him happiness, as he loved nurturing vegetables and creating a beautiful outdoor space.

A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Robert served his country with honor and dedication. His commitment to his community extended beyond his military service; he was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Holly, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to church life.

Robert graduated from Mount Holly High School in 1972, a step that would lead him on a journey filled with hard work and devotion to his family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bobby's life at a funeral service on Wednesday April 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00pm prior to the service at the church. The family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or to First Baptist Church, PO Box 385 Mount Holly NC 28120.

Robert William Laughlin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
