Ross Garrett Nix

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ross Garrett Nix, born February 13, 1985 in Gastonia, North Carolina. He passed away July 5, 2023 in Gastonia.

Ross was an incredibly loving father to his three children – Cameron, Michael and Ariana. His love for them was evident in the way he cheered them on at their sporting events and shared his love of music and movies with them. He took great joy spending time outdoors fishing and playing sports with them as well as teaching them the importance of a strong faith.

Ross graduated from North Gaston High School in 2003 and enjoyed rooting for the UNC Tarheels and LA Lakers. He was always known for his contagious smile and laughter that could light up any room. He was highly respected by those around him whether it be friends or strangers.

He is survived by his mother Patti Richardson and stepfather Steve Richardson and his father Terry Nix.  Also cherishing his memory are his sons Cameron and Michael and daughter Ariana; brother Mark Nix (Crystal) and children Anna, Luke, and Gabby; sister Ginny Nix (Justin) and children Jaxon and Kuechly; stepbrothers Josh Richardson (Victoria), Jeff Richardson (Reese); half-brother Michael Nix; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joe and Virginia Marr; paternal grandparents JD and Bobbie Nix as well as stepbrother Jonny Richardson.

The funeral will take place July 9, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Connections Church located at 304 McAdenville Road in Belmont, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ross will be remembered for his great joy of life, constant laughter, strong faith, dedication to family and friends as well as loyalty to the teams he rooted for. .

He will definitely be missed but forever remembered by all those who loved him.
