Sarah Jane Boyd, 67, died on Friday, December 12, 2025,at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. Sarah was born on August 9, 1958, and attended Hunter Huss High School where she graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1976. In 1978 she graduated from Gaston College with an Associates degree before attending Appalachian StateUniversity, where she gained her Bachelors degree in Library Science in 1980. Following this, she had a long career at Gaston-Lincoln Regional Library, most of it as the branch librarian for the Bessemer City branch.

Sarah enjoyed traveling and took numerous trips to locations such as Scotland, Ireland, Texas, and Spain. When she wasn’t traveling, she dedicated her time to her church, friends,and family, providing them with strong emotional support and care. An easygoing, kind individual she was well-loved by everyone she met for her soft humor and keen insight. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Erskine H. Boyd,and mother, Frieda F. Boyd, and is survived by her sister Christine Lee (spouse Craig) and nephew Connor. 

Friends, family, and neighbors are invited to Crowders Creek ARP Church in Gastonia, NC on Saturday, January 10, 2026, for visitation at 10 a.m., memorial service at 11 a.m., anda brief graveside service. Sarah held a great love of the holidays and, since she was unable to celebrate Christmas this year with those she loved, it is requested that attendees wear some form of Christmas apparel, whether it be jewelry, accessories, or some form of clothing. This is strictly voluntary and not required of attendees.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toCrowders Creek ARP Church or to the Gaston County Friends of the Library program.
