It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Sheila Diane Bell Wallace, who passed away at her home on April 8, 2026. Born on November 5, 1951, in Charlotte, NC, Sheila graced this world with her warmth and kindness for 74 remarkable years. Sheila was the cherished daughter of Mary and Quentin Bell, who have preceded her in passing. . She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Wallace, with whom she shared over 53 wonderful years of marriage. Their enduring love and commitment to one another were a testament to their shared journey and unwavering bond. Sheila was a proud and loving mother to her sons, Jamie Wallace, who resides with his wife Heather in Knoxville, TN, and Eric Wallace of Belmont. Her family was always the center of her universe, and she took immense pride in nurturing and supporting them. Her brother, Gary Bell of Laurel Springs, NC, also survives her, along with a host of extended family and friends who were touched by her kindness and compassion. A graduate of South Point High School in Belmont, class of 1970, Sheila carried her love for learning and community into her professional life. She was a dedicated employee at the Massey Company in Mount Holly and later served with grace and diligence as a Parish Administrator at First Methodist and Good Shepherd Lutheran in Mount Holly. Her contributions to these communities were marked by her dedication and attention to detail. Sheila was a vibrant member of the Beacon Book Club of Stanley, where she shared her love of reading and friendship with fellow members. Her hobbies also included crocheting, a skill she mastered and used to create beautiful keepsakes for her loved ones. Known for her culinary talents, Sheila was a good cook who found joy in preparing meals that brought her family together around the table. Her love and care extended beyond her immediate family, as she was known for her generous spirit and kindness to all who crossed her path. Sheila's legacy is one of love, dedication, and a life spent in service to others.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday April 15, 2026 at the First Methodist Church in Mount Holly. A reception for family and friends will follow in the fellowship hall.
