Tamara Scism Dabbs Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tamara Scism Dabbs, who left this world on January 8, 2025, at the Caromont Regional Medical Center. Born on November 14, 1958, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Tamara brought light and love into the lives of all who knew her during her remarkable 66 years.
Tamara was the beloved daughter of the late Arlee and Ellen Scism. She is now reunited in peace with her cherished son, James Leffler III, and her beloved sisters Carolyn, Doris, and Jean Yandle, who all preceded her in death.
In her journey through life, Tamara found her greatest joy in her family. She was married to her devoted husband, Jimmy Dabbs, for an incredible 47 years. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Tamara is survived by her two sons, Robert Dabbs (Melinda) and Charles Lefler, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She was a loving grandmother to Alex, Alayna, Zachary (Charlene), Cameron, and Tanner, each of whom she adored and cherished. Her family was her biggest accomplishment, and she dedicated herself to nurturing the bonds that united them.
Tamara had a kind spirit and a generous heart; she loved to do for others, always putting their needs before her own. Her warmth and compassion touched many lives, and her legacy of selflessness will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her devotion to family, Tamara enjoyed traveling, particularly to Key West, Florida, where the sun and sea brought her much happiness.
Tamara is also survived by her two brothers, Charles Scism (Meg) and Jim Scism (Shirley) and her sister Julie Madden (Jeff).
A funeral service to celebrate Tamara's life will be held on Monday January 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the First Methodist Church in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. All who knew and loved her are invited to come together, share their stories, and honor the beautiful spirit of a woman who made the world a much brighter place.
