Vinod Kumar Bammi, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was born in New Delhi, India, son of the late Kasturi Lal and Somavanti Bammi. He was preceded in death by a brother Suresh Bammi. He retired from RL Stowe Mills after many years of service. He was a volunteer at Meals on Wheels, and was known as the “ice cream man” at Woodlawn Haven. He volunteered at Catawba Heights Baptist in the Gaston County Schools Food Ministry. He was the manager/drink man at Modern Texture Salon in Cramerton. He enjoyed taking care of his neighbors through his many services. He was an avid golfer, who loved spending time with his grandkids and going to the beach. He was always giving financial advice to others.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Judy Bammi, 2 children Laren Keene of York, Brandy Moore and husband Dewey of Mount Holly, 3 step children Angie Gillespie of Stanley, Shannon Lynn of Gastonia, David Setzer of Belmont. Numerous grandchildren including Andrew, Gavin, Hayden, Nicholas, and Baylee. 2 brothers Vimal Bammi and Vinay Bammi and a friend he called his elder sister Lib.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bammi be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Finish Line Christian Center in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
