Vivian Marie Harris Henson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 1 2026.

Born in Spindale, NC on August 17, 1934,  she was the second of six children,  all of whom she adored.

Marie worked hard to become an RN, taking pride in her work.

In 1956, She married the love of her life, Ronald Henson. From moving to Charlotte to pursue their careers and raise their sons Ronnie and Jeff, to moving to Lucia for a quieter life in the country, Marie and Ronald spent seventy years building a life together.

Marie loved helping in their garden. Many from the community reaped its treasures. She was a faithful member of Hills Chapel United Methodist Church for many years. She loved calling it her home and the congregation her family.

After retiring, she volunteered at East Lincoln Christian Ministries where she loved meeting new people and helping those in need rebuild their lives.

Marie was an avid cook.  She loved a winning hand of cards, watching her daily soaps and going to get her hair done. She loved listening to her Elvis tunes, sitting on the pier at the lake and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sisters: Mildred Freeman, Faye Campbell(Larry), Maye Pruett, her two sons Ronnie(Teresa) and Jeff; grandchildren Christy Martin (McCoy), Eric Henson (Ashley Flowers) Kelly Henson, McKenzie Henson, Miranda Henson (Ryan White) honorary granddaughter Maggie Roberts(Adam Wenger)and great grandchildren Tucker Martin(Meredith), Reese Martin (Elijah Sutherland), Maddox Henson(Jaida Mistry) Luna Henson, Koa Henson, honorary great grand Lainey Wenger and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Morningside Assisted Living Center for their compassionate care and kindness.
