William Randy Spencer, age 65, died peacefully at home with his wife and family on April 11, 2023, in Bessemer City, North Carolina after a courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born July 27, 1957, in Galax, Virginia to Doris “Lakie” Blanchard, but was adopted and raised by Robert and Juanita Spencer of Gastonia, North Carolina. He received his GED at Gaston College and many certifications. Randy was a jack-of-all-trades and loved working with his hands. He was married to Marilyn Spencer who was his life partner for almost 47 years at the time of his death.
Randy is survived by his wife, Marilyn Spencer; two children: Billy Spencer and wife Sharon, and Carla Spencer; five grandchildren: Jordan Spencer, Madison Null and husband Greg, Cortney Spencer, Ethan Spencer, and Keillan Spencer; three great-grandchildren: Liam Price, Braxton Null, and Winter Null.
Randy was preceded in death by many family members and friends.
Randy especially will be remembered for his love for Marilyn and his children; also, for his dedication to his church and devotion to the men at church. Randy’s smile lit the room and his heart was as big as the world. He was known for helping any and all.
Known as the can man, he had a passion for playing golf and fishing. He watched NFL and NASCAR. Randy touched many lives with his generosity no matter where he went.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Monday, April 17, 2023. Visitation is at 5:00 PM and service to follow at Finish Line Christion Center, 108 N Main Street, Mount Holly, North Carolina, 28120.
